Richard G. Livernois, M.D. is a Board-Certified Ophthalmologist and experienced refractive and cataract surgeon. With over 40 years of experience, Dr. Livernois is skilled in advanced bladeless LASIK, refractive cataract surgery with multifocal lenses and cornea inlays for reading vision. Dr. Livernois believes in personal eye care and in helping each patient choose the best procedure to achieve their optimal visual result.
Dr. Livernois is Ivy League trained and received his medical degree from Brown University Medical School and completed residency training at the University of Pennsylvania. He completed a fellowship under the direction of pioneering eye surgeon, Robert Sinskey, M.D. at the Sinskey Ophthalmic Center in Santa Monica, California. After the fellowship, he continued to be an instructor at that center for several years.
Dr. Livernois has been the medical director at several institutions, including the Advanced Eye Care Institute and the Laser Vision Institute. He holds active medical licenses in several states and is a Diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is a frequent invited lecturer and has been a guest surgeon at several international hospitals. Dr. Livernois has written articles about eye surgery, has authored textbook chapters and is the designer of several eye surgery instruments.
Dr. Livernois is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons. He has often been selected to serve as an investigator for several medical devices during FDA sponsored studies. This has allowed him to seek the best products and procedures for each individual patient need.
